Reliably delivering safe, quality drinking water to 1.4 million customers requires an extensive distribution system. Besides water mains, we use pumps, tanks, and towers to move water across our 640-square-mile service area.

Let's look at the history of our second oldest treatment facility, the Baldwin Water Treatment Plant. With its opening in 1925, filtered and chlorinated water was delivered to all Cleveland Water customers for the first time.

Our 2018 Water Quality Report is now available. This year, as in previous years, our drinking water met or surpassed all applicable federal and state standards. This report, also called a Consumer Confidence Report, details drinking water quality from the past year and includes other helpful information.

We've awarded over $7 million to 6 suburban service communities for 14 water main replacement projects. These awards are part of our Suburban Water Main Replacement Program and our $25 million annual investment in buried infrastructure.

Like most other public water systems in the Great Lakes, we depend on data and support from local, state, and federal partners. Our partnerships with federal agencies like NOAA are a key element in ensuring reliable access to clean and safe drinking water for our 1.4 million customers.

Cleveland Water presented its portion of the City of Cleveland's 2021 estimated budget. As reflected in the budget request, we continue to make safe, affordable drinking water a priority.
