Cleveland STEP

At Cleveland STEP, you’ll get real hands-on experiences to help propel you into the future. Whether it’s designing your own rocket, building a robot rover or creating lava, at Cleveland STEP you’ll inspire your curiosity and build toward your very own career in a STEM field.

STEP Objectives:

Explore the world of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) at places like:

• NASA Glenn Research Center

• National Inventor Hall of Fame

• Cleveland Water Treatment Plants

• Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD)

STEP Activities

Students visit premier institutions where STEM professionals engage with students, conduct experiments, participate in hands-on experiences and share the exciting fields of math, science, engineering and technology..

The tours, homework and writing assignments are important to a Cleveland STEP student’s successful completion of the program. The homework assignments are based on each month’s tour and activities and fortify what the students learned in each class.

Students entering the 6th through 9th grades at any school in the Cleveland Water/NEORSD service area are eligible for participation. Our free, fun, safe and age-appropriate activities are vetted by STEM professionals through Cleveland STEP. The program is held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. one Saturday of each month September through April.
